(Bien qu'un bébé raton laveur au long nez ait fait plus tard du travail de modélisation pour moi)... Austin, un chien d'eau portugais, m'a aidé à combler certains vides... Je suis un artiste abstrait, et c'est ainsi que mes histoires sont racontées... the recipe for Sari's homemade marble(her personal invention): "Circa 1850" powdered waterproof marine glue (resin)...1 part Aragonite Sand (marble) 2 parts 3/4 inch alkaline resistant glass fibres 1 part water 1 part optional: gold powder, or mineral silicate paint (for cement)...to taste     (Truth is, it was an all brown raccoon with a very long & big nose, I think it was a different species than the grey & black & white bandit ones we see usually in Toronto...)  whiskers are of fibre optic fibre taped to keep them clean while working...the aluminum screen mesh keeps them more separate from each other... 1/13 This No-Weld armature was made by cutting pieces of copper pipe, then using copper couplings to join them together...Then I ran wire through the whole thing to make sure it held together well...This was all wrapped in a large amount of chicken wire...It is a very stable form...My newer armatures are built using threaded steel rods bolted together using copper strapping as attachment device...The newer design allows for more curves, since the copper pipe design, well, it is hard to bend pipe easily...A ferrocement teacher named Nick Nickolson inspired my newer curvier design for a no-weld armature...He was welding, but his lines are very elegant & slim, which led me to ponder how I could make concrete more elegant & less boxy...Which forced me to think harder about the how part... The Magnolia tree bloomed & I caught it that evening, as I stood on the sidewalk, with my giant stretched linen canvas resting its crossbars on the construction cone's flat top...I stood & sketched each bloom in oil pastel...Later, moving to a private garden, where I began laying down memory with walnut oil paint & painting knife, allowing my mind to drift a little so a happy accident might occur... Ma façon de peindre : Commence avec Plein Air... Pastels à l'huile... Plus tard, j'utilise un couteau et des huiles... Eco-dammar après 6 mois, je prends une toile de lin préparée, déjà tendue... J'aime préparer avec du gesso transparent Liquitex... Le transparent interfère moins avec les couleurs... 3 couches... Ensuite, j'apporte de bons pastels à l'huile, Sennelier est sympa... Pose ton croquis sur des pastels à l'huile - tu peux utiliser différentes couleurs (achète la grande boîte)... Puis plus tard, à l'huile et au couteau (à l'extérieur dans un jardin avec la lumière du soleil), je pose la couleur dans la peinture... Ce que cela fait, c'est que cela sépare très légèrement l'image de la réalité - votre mémoire de couleur sera différente de la vraie... Cela libère un peu le sujet, donc ce n'est pas tout à fait réel... Cela permet à une certaine imagination de transparaître... Le mariage du réel et de l'imaginaire est mon style hybride... Oui, je suis totalement pour rendre les choses plus faciles mais toujours élégantes... si vous apprenez à peindre avec un couteau, vous n'avez pas du tout besoin de solvants, en plus vous économisez énormément car les pinceaux sont chers... (Aussi animal les pinceaux à cheveux ont une politique qui leur est attachée - cela dépend du pays et de l'animal, donc vous pouvez vous sentir moralisateur à propos du couteau aussi)... Avec les pastels à l'huile, vous pouvez poser un croquis vraiment frais et bien fait avec vos choix de couleurs... Plus tard, vous pouvez utiliser des huiles avec un couteau (essayez ceci), et au lieu d'utiliser une palette qui se remplit de peinture (sale et inutile), posez simplement vos huiles directement du tube sur vos lignes de pastel, toutes les couleurs d'abord, puis vous pouvez les écraser avec le couteau, ce qui donne un merveilleux mélange marbré aux endroits où les couleurs se touchent et se mélangent... Ensuite, vous obtenez une peinture épaisse avec beaucoup de texture... Ok, l'attente pour sécher est beaucoup plus longue, mais vous obtenez un chef-d'œuvre total... Vous pouvez le photographier frais et le poster sur votre Facebook ou votre site Web et au moment où il est vendu (peut-être 6 mois plus tard), ou va à un salon, vous pouvez poser une couche de vernis éco-dammar... (j'étale mon éco-dammar avec des gants chirurgicaux jetables... Les miens viennent d'Eco-House.com)... Je n'utilise pas solvants, ou essences de térébenthine du tout... So...It began when my mum gave me & Joseph 3 giant white Amaryllis bulbs in a big green glass vase...Huge...I started drawing the bulbs as they bloomed, & then sent the sketches to my mum by email, by way of saying thanks... Then, I needed bigger paper...Went to Grand & Toy & got a giant cardboard folder, & a giant pad of paper & a neat black pen (that came with a carabiner attached to a stretchy thing)... Went home & did a giant pen sketch of the new blooms... Took a photo of that sketch with my little sony dsc-t100 8 megapixel teeny camera from Henrys... Uploaded that to Mac Snow Leopard from Sigma... Then opened that sketch file in the free Mac Paintbrush application... Went over all my lines again in black to make them bolder...(just with my mouse in hand)... Then took that bolder sketch & stuck it in the online program called Psykopaint.com... With the plain clear brush on the Van Gogh setting went over all lines again, to smush up the look a bit... Threw in some scattered white scumbles... Downloaded that file... Uploaded that to Posterjack.ca ...Sent my mum a poster of this sketch...Went straight to her house as a thank you for the flowers...
